YourBestHealthPlans.com is published by ByTheMath and written by the YourBest Editorial Team. The site may show ads and some links may earn a commission (see the affiliate disclosure). Neither changes our content: no insurer, broker or partner can pay to be included in a ranking, ranked higher, or reviewed more favorably.
What we cover
Medicare (Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Part D and Medigap) and ACA Marketplace coverage: what it costs, when you can enroll, and how to compare plans. We rank plans only where the numbers can be compared fairly from public plan data.
Sources
- Plan facts come from CMS plan files, never from another comparison site or an insurer’s marketing.
- Program rules come from the agency that sets them (CMS, Medicare.gov, SSA, HHS, IRS) and are cited on the page with the date we checked them.
- When a figure for the coming year isn’t published yet, we say so and show the current year’s figure, labelled.
Accuracy and independence
Every plan in a ranking is scored by the same formula, described on our methodology page. A plan’s partner status is not an input. Calculators run in your browser and use only the figures shown on the page.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell insurance, enroll anyone, or take calls about plans.
- We don’t tell you which plan to choose. Doctors, drugs and health needs are personal; our rankings are a starting point.
- We don’t give medical, legal or tax advice.
Mistakes: see our corrections policy.
