How we rank

We add 12 months of premiums to the plan’s deductible: roughly what a year costs with modest prescriptions, before copays. Because every plan has the same $2,400 out-of-pocket cap in 2027, the premium also decides the worst case. Full methodology.

Run your own drugs through the Plan Finder. Formularies, tiers and preferred pharmacies differ, and they can matter more than the premium. The Medicare Plan Finder estimates each plan’s cost for your exact prescriptions.
